Phase 4

The Process Modeling and Reliability Improvement processes will define recommended EAM/CMMS reconfiguration to effect enhancements. In support of implementing the automated reliability management strategy this phase involves:

  • Synchronizing the asset hierarchy to align with the one used with the RCM process
  • Integrating the asset failure mode tables with the RCM tables to allow capturing cost and activity associated with known failure modes
  • Developing preplanned work orders associated with condition directed tasks
  • Implementing the condition monitoring triggers within the condition assessment and condition forecasting system to link with the appropriate preplanned work order
  • Establishing work close-out processes to capture asset performance metrics

After integration with EAM, major benefits are delivered:

  • Automation of outage planning
  • Access to the real-time information that will allow you to keep lower spare parts inventories, winning the spare parts inventory/dollars balance game
  • Asset configuration control
  • Minimizing paper work, freeing employees for more productive work
  • Complying with regulatory requirements such as OSHA, EPA, ISO 9000, and QS 9000
  • Reducing inventory costs/carrying charges by improving inventory utilization
